LAGOS – As the 2023 general elections draw nearer, political parties have been told to select people from the South-East extraction as their presidential candidates in the next year’s election.
Dr Emeka Kalu, the Director-General, Global Initiatives For Good Governance (GIGG) said that it was only fair for the South East to produce the next president of Nigeria, stressing that apart from the Igbos, every other tribe in the country had produced the President of the country.
Kalu in a statement to journalists insisted that the Igbo have qualified people in all strata of the economy to govern the country at the presidency stage, stressing that the region has highly educated, experienced and competent personalities to take the country to the desired level.
